For better planned cities. Conversations on sustainable and resilient development approaches were highlighted during a workshop conducted by the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development, as supported by UN-Habitat Philippines. The half-day event focused on gathering inputs for the agency's draft handbook on development controls and zoning ordinances.
Once developed, the handbook will serve as reference material for local government units in preparing, implementing, and enforcing their Zoning Ordinances. It will also serve as a referral document for developers, architects, environmental planners, and other design professionals in determining the maximum development potential of their projects.
The first day of the event held on Sept 8 was conducted virtually where DHSUD's regional officers participated. The Sept 9 meeting was attended by DHSUD Central Office technical staff and private sector representatives.
